With a bachelor’s in biology and a master’s in environmental science, Marie-Odile has extensive experience in education, particularly as an scientific interpreter for the Montréal Biodôme day camps, where she worked for several summers. After taking numerous trips, her passion for our planet’s biodiversity led her to join the Montréal Space for Life team in 2012, taking on the position of scientific interpreter at the Biodôme and at the 1000 Days for the Planet mission Base Camp before coordinating the Biodôme day camps. Her work now allows her to share her wonder for the world’s beauty with all of her peers—young and old—while raising their awareness of the importance of preserving our biodiversity. It is this wonder that she wants to continue sharing during her stint aboard the Sedna IV as a Montréal Space for Life Scientific Communicator.
